This bank is first class all the way. They know my name everytime I walk in and they even have popcorn and cookies on Fridays!! Never had a bad experience in all my years of doing business with them. Glad I switched from the unfriendly national bank!

I'm sad to say what a horrible business Union Bank has become. I've had an account with them for almost 10 years now & they're finally losing my business. They recently merged with Rose Rock Bank and ever since the merge, things have been nothing but difficult & inconvenient. Up until the merge, thier online banking was spot-on & real-time. Thier automated system was also spot-on. No problems with ATM's or ATM Debit Cards. Great customer service. It was bank heaven! However, after the merge, the online banking very rarely shows your true balance. NOTHING is real-time. Sometimes my online banking will not be updated for 3-4 DAYS! The automated system also rarely gives your true balance. Bottom Line: I can check my balance online, call the automated system, & physically go to an ATM and get 3 DIFFERENT BALANCES! ATM Debit Cards: Never, in my 10 years with Union Bank have they ever had a security breach. However, after the merge, they apparently had a huge one (something about a business in Florida & everyone's account information being compromised...) They sent everyone new debit cards. I called to activate mine. It went very smoothly. Nothing was mentioned about a new pin. I was told to throw out my old debit card. (However, something told me to hold onto it.) I went to the ATM to use my new debit card & when I entered my pin- the ATM machine KEPT MY DEBIT CARD claiming that I had entered the wrong pin & it must be stolen. So I went inside the lobby. I was told that the card could not be retrieved for another week. I responded "How in the world am I supposed to function without my debit card?" They said I could withdrawl cash or write checks- which is valid & true- but inconvenient, nonetheless. When they looked at my account, they found that my previous debit card was still active. I sure am glad I held onto it & didn't "toss it" like customer service instructed me to...Customer Service: Over the phone, you can tell they've been overwhelmed with complaints. Therefore, they're a bit unsympathetic towards your needs & very desensitized while they ramble off empty promises that things will "return to normal". As for Online Customer Service: Non-Existant. I've written 3 very eloquent, but firm e-mails to their customer service department in effort to get some answers. No one has ever responded back. The absurdity of all this blows my mind. I've talked to a lot of friends & family who have also used Union Bank and they feel the exact same way- they've also taken thier business elsewhere. I don't mean to bash Union Bank because they were so great for so long. However, I just think it's evident how horrible & disappointing this merge has been. Maybe they feel the same & it's too late. Who knows.... However, don't start a relationship with them now. Frustration will surely be yours.
