Stockyards City, the area surrounding the Oklahoma National Stockyards, was built in 1903 to serve the nation's growing need for meat processing and packing. Today, the area contains the world's largest stockyard and is the ideal place to experience the charming old west traditions that still live in America. Visitors can shop for custom made boots, dine at the historic Cattleman's Steakhouse or take in a live cattle auction, held on Mondays and Tuesdays and open to the public.The area is located in the southwest corner of the city, near River Park.
